Two connected products

JanOrder and Bill It Bharat: one connected workflow

JanOrder is the customer-facing QR and direct-order interface. Bill It Bharat is the free merchant-facing billing and operations system. Each has its own purpose, linked through merchant-enabled experiences.

Quick answer: JanOrder helps customers browse and submit supported direct orders; Bill It Bharat helps businesses manage items, bills and operational workflows. A participating merchant needs to configure the relevant customer-facing connection. This static site does not itself host merchant data.

What local-first really means

Bill It Bharat is designed around local-first browser data for business billing. A merchant must back up local data regularly as recommended in the business app. Data stored only in a browser is not automatically available to JanOrder across other phones. A public customer-facing menu or connected ordering channel requires deliberate publishing/synchronization of the allowed merchant catalogue and orders; it should never expose private bill history.

Recommended setup sequence

  1. Create or access the business

Use the supported Bill It Bharat merchant sign-in and setup process.

  2. Prepare catalogue and prices

Confirm item names, tax display and availability before sharing them with diners.

  3. Enable only the customer experiences needed

Choose table ordering, direct ordering or Scan & Shop based on your venue.

  4. Test two-way handoff

Confirm that a sample guest request reaches the intended merchant view; verify the kitchen and payment steps separately.

  5. Back up business records

Follow the merchant app’s regular local-data export/backup instructions.

Product boundaries and pricing

JanOrder charges 0% platform commission on supported direct orders. Bill It Bharat currently offers free core billing with operational resource limits; merchant-managed fulfilment and third-party costs are separate. This avoids promising unlimited resource capacity or a JanOrder-owned delivery network.

Questions people ask

Can I use Bill It Bharat without JanOrder?

Yes. Bill It Bharat is the merchant platform; a business does not have to use every customer-facing workflow.

Can JanOrder read all my local bills?

No. Browser-local billing records are not automatically published publicly; customer-facing data requires the applicable configured sync and privacy controls.

Will orders work when every device is offline?

Do not assume so. Offline counter billing is a separate capability from cross-device customer order delivery, which requires an appropriate connection.
