See how table QR ordering works
A restaurant prints a code for the appropriate table. A guest points their phone camera at the code, checks that it belongs to the restaurant, opens the menu in a browser, and sends a request. Staff and kitchen workflow depend on the merchant configuration. JanOrder is not an independent delivery marketplace.
- Create the menu
The merchant sets up items, categories and prices in its business workspace.
- Place each table QR
Use the correct business or table link, print the code, and test it before service.
- Let diners choose
Customers scan, read the menu and add supported items from their phones.
- Handle each incoming order
The restaurant receives and manages orders through its enabled operational workflow.
- Settle and serve
Staff confirm availability, prepare, serve and collect payment according to the restaurant’s process.
Why restaurants use browser-based self-ordering
- Less ordering friction: guests can request another beverage without trying to flag down busy staff.
- Direct customer connection: the restaurant shares its own QR or link rather than relying only on a marketplace listing.
- Clear table context: table QRs tell the ordering flow where the guest is seated.
- Menu flexibility: participating merchants can change items and prices without reprinting the entire paper menu.
- 0% JanOrder platform commission: the ordering interface does not take a percentage of merchant direct orders.
